As the Senior Technical Designer, you will provide expert technical leadership across the product development lifecycle, partnering with Design, Product Development and Production teams to translate creative vision into commercially successful, high-quality products. You will lead the technical design process from concept through to bulk production, ensuring exceptional fit, construction, quality and compliance standards while building strong supplier partnerships and developing technical capability across the team. Through your expertise, coaching and continuous improvement mindset, you will help deliver products that reflect the Trenery quality standards and customer expectations.

How You Will Contribute

  • Lead the technical design process, providing expert advice on garment construction, fit, grading and manufacturing
  • Create and maintain accurate technical packs within PLM, ensuring products are production-ready
  • Lead fit sessions, assess samples and ensure fit comments and technical updates are accurately documented
  • Establish and maintain construction standards that deliver consistent quality across suppliers
  • Partner with Design, Product Development and Production teams to resolve technical issues and balance quality, cost and timelines
  • Manage technical deliverables against the critical path, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution
  • Ensure garments are approved for bulk production through accurate specifications, fit, QA and compliance
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and external partners to support quality and manufacturing outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement across technical processes, fit standards and PLM practices
  • Coach and develop Technical Designers while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture.

Capabilities We Value

  • 5+ years' experience in Technical Design, Product Development or a similar apparel technical role
  • Strong expertise in garment construction, fit, grading, patternmaking and apparel manufacturing
  • Proven experience managing technical product development from concept through to production
  • Strong knowledge of PLM systems, technical specifications and garment quality standards
  • Experience working with offshore suppliers and managing technical vendor relationships
  • Commercial mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing capabilities
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel and PLM systems; CAD or patternmaking software is advantageous
  • Bachelor or Diploma in Fashion, Textiles or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • A collaborative leader who enjoys developing others and driving continuous improvement.
