As our Junior Designer, you'll play an integral role in bringing our collections to life, supporting the Senior Designer - Bags & Smalls and the broader Design team to research, develop and design products that resonate with the Mimco customer. How you will contribute
- Support Senior Designer to design a product range aligned to the brand creative product strategy set by the Head of Design and brand strategy set by General Manager, aligned to the option plan, price points, margin targets and trade insights
- Research projects including emerging trend and inspiration based on customer segmentation, creative product strategy and brand direction
- Support Senior Designer to conceptualise and sketch the range; develop and maintenance of all range documents
- Complete thorough and detailed product briefing specifications for vendors (including technical and construction specifications)
- Prepare and collate relevant samples and documentation for key meetings as requested
- Collaborate with Pod partners on product range (Buying, Tech Design, Planning and PD)
- Evaluate range performance by assessing weekly sales reports and attending trade meetings, taking learnings into future actions
- Adhere to company timetable and critical path to ensure delivery into stores is on time.
Capabilities we value
- Diploma or degree qualification in Design
- Previous experience or equivalent in a Junior design role
- Experience working with local and off-shore vendors
- Proven track record of designing & developing commercially successful product ranges
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Proven teamwork and collaboration abilities, thriving in dynamic and fast-paced settings
- Genuine interest in the bags and accessories design, paired with creative flair and a passion for innovative design
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outcomes in all tasks
- Exceptional organisational skills, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines
- Strong CAD (Adobe) and Excel skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities, demonstrating resourcefulness and critical thinking.
