We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Logistics & Customs Compliance Specialist to oversee end-to-end customs compliance, international logistics governance, and support financial modelling and cost visibility across Country Road Group’s supply chain. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, cost transparency, and data-driven decision-making across freight, customs, and offshore logistics operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee global customs compliance and international shipping processes across multiple regions.
  • Ensure full adherence to import/export legislation, customs regulations, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for customs and international logistics, providing guidance, coaching, and support to internal teams.
  • Liaise with customs authorities, government agencies, and logistics partners to resolve compliance matters efficiently.
  • Train suppliers and service providers on customs regulations, trade compliance obligations, and Country Road Group requirements.
  • Conduct customs compliance audits, maintain accurate and auditable documentation, and prepare detailed regulatory and management reports.

Reporting, Financial Analysis & Insights

  • Own and deliver logistics and customs reporting, generating actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Reconcile offshore pick-and-pack charges from third-party service providers, ensuring alignment with contracted rates and invoicing accuracy.
  • Perform financial modelling across all freight and customs service providers, tracking actuals versus budget, identifying variances, and highlighting cost optimisation opportunities.
  • Track and monitor monthly logistics and customs costs, proactively identifying risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and submit duty drawback claims with the Australian Border Force (ABF), ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely recovery of eligible duties.
  • Proactively identify and assess opportunities to claim ASEAN preferential duties in accordance with relevant Free Trade Agreements and rules of origin.

Key Capabilities

  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, including duty drawback schemes.
  • Proven experience in international shipping, freight forwarding, and supplier relationship management.
  • Sound understanding of customs legal requirements for import and export of goods across AUS and NZ.
  • Experience using shipment tracking, logistics reporting, and compliance tools.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of statutory and regulatory compliance discipline.
  • Advanced financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a collaborative approach.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and SQL querying.
