Purpose
Based at our world class Truganina Omni-Fulfilment Centre, The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the OFC operates within a safe, secure, efficient, and well-maintained environment that supports both employees and business operations. The role oversees all services and processes critical to the Distribution Centre, with a strong focus on safety, security, preventative maintenance, contractor management, and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Safety, Compliance & Engagement
Work with Team Leaders and Zone Managers to ensure safe work practices are followed, driving towards zero LTIs and MTIs.
Eliminate downtime caused by accidents, injuries, or illness by implementing and maintaining safe working practices and procedures.
MHE & Facility Management
Conduct regular inspections of all MHE and wheeled equipment, ensuring any damages are reported, discussed with relevant Zone Managers, and actioned immediately.
Security & Contractor Oversight
Ensure security, contractor performance, and MHE operations comply with senior management directives, customer requirements, and business expectations.
Oversee facility security systems including access control, CCTV monitoring, alarm systems, and perimeter protection.
Project & Operational Management
Prepare documentation for tenders and manage procurement processes for contractors.
Lead project management activities, including supervision and coordination of contractor works on site.
Direct, coordinate, and plan essential central services including reception, security, maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal, and recycling.
Monitor and verify that authorised contractor and staff work has been completed to agreed standards, following up on deficiencies where necessary.
Key Capabilities
Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety policies and legislative requirements.
Previous experience in maintenance and security operations.
Knowledge of relevant federal and state security law requirements.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical refrigeration and thermodynamics (HVAC).
Familiarity with electrical codes to effectively supervise electrical contractors.
Experience managing power shutdowns with minimal impact to business operations, involving security and fire departments where required.
Proven experience with security systems, including CCTV camera operations and patrol requirements.
Sound warehousing and distribution experience with the ability to identify and resolve maintenance and security inefficiencies.
Adherence to relevant company policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain and promote WHS and NHVL policies, procedures, and systems.
