Purpose
Support the broader Merchandise Planning team in the preparation of merchandise plans for the season, maintaining and managing OTB, and proactively managing sales, stock, markdowns, and profit throughout the season.
Planning
Preparation of the Merchandise plans for the season. Creating seasonal budgets by category in line with divisional strategy within MFP · Regular reforecasting of all categories in MFP in line with monthly timelines.
Manage markdowns, analyse weekly sales reports and propose any clearance markdowns in season. Control seasonal markdown levels within targets and manage stock levels across concession stores.
Allocation
Working with allocation analyst allocation of stock for new store openings, refits and store closures.
Liaise with online manager to provide support in terms of allocations, data file, regrouping of stock to meet online orders – including updating delivery dates, stock on hand, style numbers etc.
Collaborate closely with the Visual Merchandising team on stock capacity planning to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained in-store
Sales Analysis
Weekly trade reporting, providing analysis and recommendations on Sales, BGP & Stock targets.
Analyse weekly reports, identify trade actions / opportunities around store allocations and replenishment.
Work on special projects as required – e.g. test / focus stores to maximise sales potential in a store.
Communication
Prepare and present class and category performance at weekly sales meetings as required.
Store visits on a regular basis to gain an understanding of the business, and layouts in store.
Liaise with Regional Area Managers / buyers on store needs, movement of stock in/out of state
Key Capabilities
A relevant degree including, Commerce, Business Administration or Retail or a related field.
Previous experience in a retail planning role
Highly analytical with an understanding of merchandise planning processes.
Proficient in advanced Excel and skilled in effectively using planning systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
