Position Overview
The Head of Analytics and Digital Marketing is a senior leadership role responsible for driving data-driven marketing strategies and overseeing the complete digital marketing ecosystem. This position combines strategic oversight of customer data platforms, advanced analytics infrastructure, comprehensive digital marketing operations, and integrated marketing planning to optimise customer engagement and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Customer & Marketing Technology
Lead the strategy, implementation, and optimisation of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) to create unified customer profiles and enable personalised experiences
Oversee marketing automation systems and workflows to drive customer lifecycle engagement
Direct personalisation initiatives across all digital touchpoints to maximise conversion and retention
Ensure seamless integration between customer data systems and marketing execution platforms
Drive innovation in marketing technology adoption, including AI/ML implementation and emerging channel opportunities
Analytics, Data Science & Web Analytics
Drive comprehensive data science initiatives including predictive modelling, customer lifetime value analysis, and advanced segmentation strategies
Build forecasting frameworks to predict customer behaviour, market trends, and campaign performance across all channels
Develop profitability frameworks and models to optimise marketing spend allocation and maximise return on investment
Establish comprehensive KPI frameworks and performance measurement systems across all marketing functions
Oversee web analytics implementation and optimisation across all digital properties to maximise conversion insights
Lead Google Analytics infrastructure and advanced tracking implementations for comprehensive customer journey analysis
Manage Google Cloud Platform data services including BigQuery for large-scale data processing and analysis
Direct business intelligence initiatives using Looker, Tableau, and other visualisation platforms to deliver actionable insights
Establish robust data governance frameworks ensuring data quality and accessibility across marketing operations
Drive experimentation frameworks and A/B testing methodologies to optimise marketing performance
Strategic Marketing Planning & Integration
Lead holistic marketing planning function that coordinates strategies across digital marketing, analytics, and in-house CRM teams
Develop integrated campaign strategies that align digital marketing initiatives with CRM programmes and customer retention efforts
Oversee cross-functional planning processes to ensure cohesive customer experiences across all touchpoints
Drive strategic alignment between acquisition, retention, and lifecycle marketing initiatives
Establish planning frameworks and governance structures for coordinated marketing execution
Digital Marketing Operations
Lead comprehensive in-house digital marketing capabilities covering the full spectrum of paid media channels
Manage end-to-end media buying operations across all digital publishers and advertising platforms
Oversee product feed management and optimisation across shopping channels, comparison sites, and programmatic platforms
Direct feed automation, data quality, and catalogue management to ensure accurate product representation across all channels
Manage strategic technology partnerships, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations across the marketing technology stack
Direct campaign strategy, execution, and optimisation across search, social, display, video, and emerging digital channels
Budget & Resource Management
Oversee substantial marketing technology and media buying budgets, ensuring optimal allocation and value.
Manage resource planning and budget forecasting across all marketing functions
Drive cost optimisation initiatives whilst maintaining performance standards
Establish budget governance and approval processes across the marketing organisation
Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Develop and execute integrated digital marketing and analytics strategies aligned with business objectives
Present strategic insights and performance updates to board and executive leadership
Translate complex analytics and data science findings into actionable business recommendations for non-technical audiences
Build and lead high-performing teams across data science, web analytics, digital marketing, and strategic planning disciplines
Drive talent development, hiring strategy, and career progression across all functions
Foster a data-driven culture throughout the marketing organisation and broader business
Manage key stakeholder relationships and communicate marketing performance across the organisation
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience in senior marketing analytics or digital marketing leadership roles with substantial budget responsibility
Deep expertise in customer data platforms, marketing automation, and personalisation technologies
Strong background in data science methodologies, forecasting, and profitability modelling
Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform and business intelligence tools
Comprehensive knowledge of digital advertising ecosystem, programmatic buying, and media operations
Experience in product feed management and catalogue optimisation across multiple channels
Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional team coordination
Proven track record in vendor management, contract negotiation, and technology partnership development
Strong leadership experience building and scaling technical marketing teams with focus on talent development
Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex data insights to executive audiences
