Work type: Full-Time
Location: Melbourne - CBD & Inner
Categories: Human Resources

As the Senior People Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in delivering the people agenda within our Head Office for the Customer, Digital and Technology portfolios.

In this role, you will partner with the GM Customer and Digital (Executive) and the CIO, as well as senior leaders across the Customer, Digital, and Technology portfolios.

You’ll be responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose people solutions that align with business needs, in collaboration with the Head of People and Centres of Excellence. This includes providing strategic advice and recommendations across the full employee lifecycle, as well as supporting change and transformation initiatives such as new ways of working. As a Senior People Partner, you will also lead the development, delivery, and embedment of key people programs and initiatives across your portfolio group.

As a Senior People Partner at CRG, your day is dynamic, purpose-driven, and deeply connected to the success of your portfolio and people.

  • You’ll kick off the morning with a coffee in hand and a check-in with a senior leader about their team structure. You’re advising on a proposed change to their operating model—ensuring it aligns with our commercial goals and supports team growth and retention. Your ability to coach and uplift leadership capability means you’re a trusted voice in shaping high-performing teams.

  • Before midday, you’re partnering with our Centres of Excellence to ensure the performance activities are being rolled out consistently across the business. You’re supporting cyclical people activities and navigating conversations around talent, DEI initiatives, and leadership development with confidence.

  • After lunch, you're facilitating a conversation around a new way of working being introduced across teams, helping to embed change thoughtfully and practically. You then connect with the Head of People to align on strategic people priorities and co-develop a tailored people plan that supports both cultural and commercial outcomes.

  • Toward the end of the day, you guide a senior leader through an employee relations matter—providing sound advice and then partner with our ER partner to support a disciplinary process.

Every day is different, but what remains constant is your impact and influence — serving as a champion for change, enabling teams to thrive, guiding leaders to grow, and driving the business forward with clarity, a commercial focus, and a collaborative, 'one team’ mindset.

A bit about you:

  • You bring extensive HR generalist experience, ideally (not essential) within a retail environment, with a strong track record of partnering with senior executives to deliver key people initiatives.

  • You’ve led people strategy, supported change and organisational transformation, and successfully embedded new ways of working.

  • Your expertise spans the full employee lifecycle, and you're comfortable influencing at all levels, driving change, and solving problems creatively.

  • Importantly, you're hands-on and adaptable—equally confident working at a strategic level or supporting day-to-day operational HR needs.

  • As an energetic and enthusiastic self-starter, you work well both autonomously and as part of a team, and your organisation, prioritisation and time management skills are second to none. As a true professional in your field, you have high attention to detail and possess a positive, can-do attitude.

Why work for us?

  • Enjoy generous employee discounts across our iconic brands: Country Road, Mimco, Trenery, Witchery, and POLITIX – plus access to exclusive sample sales.

  • Benefit from hybrid working arrangements that promote a healthy work/life balance, with time split between the office and home.

  • Celebrate your special day with an extra day of paid leave on your birthday.

  • Thrive in a supportive and flexible environment that encourages both personal and professional growth.

  • Be part of a company that is proudly committed to sustainability and responsible business practices.
