As we embark on an enterprise transformation at Country Road Group, we have an opportunity for an Enterprise Architect for our Merchandise, Supply Chain & Enterprise Applications. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for leading the architecture direction and driving value out of the IT ecosystem, projects and services that enhance merchandising, supply chain and enterprise applications (includes data platform-AWS, People and Finance systems). This role plays a crucial part in driving employee efficiency and operational excellence and thought leadership in technology. The Enterprise Architect will collaborate with business stakeholders and external vendors to ensure that program architecture is strategically aligned and meets the overall business objectives and considering long-term strategy across all systems and applications.  

Key Accountabilities 

  • Responsible for delivery of practical solutions for technology initiatives, architectural decisions, and architectural compliance for CRG.  

  • Work with IT leadership team and key business users to derive value from technology – co-authoring the IT strategic roadmap. 

  • Lead architecture delivery for Merchandise, Supply Chain and enterprise applications which includes data and analytics, people and finance systems.  Enhancing customer engagement and optimizing retail performance by collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technology direction with strategic business goals. 

  • Impact and risk assessment of key technical/architectural decisions on individual projects and across the program plan 

  • Lead the architecture processes for new systems and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations 

  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders to understand business priorities and pain points. 

  • Align Architecture governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance across application development and integration efforts. 

  • Lead the transformation and modernization of legacy systems into a modular, flexible architecture to reduce technical debt and accelerate time-to-market with key focus on transforming the overall customer experience across all channels. 

  • Investigation and analysis to provide recommendations for architectural definition, design & associated documentation for solutions across projects and the IT program in line with future strategies and Country Road Groups best interests 

  • Direct the architecture delivery of Merchandise, Supply Chain, Enterprise Applications  teams applications to enhance business efficiency across head office functions and supply chain 

  • Collaborate closely with digital platforms, e-commerce systems, and CRM team to align architecture direction with business priorities and objectives  

  • Quality adherence to the Group IT System Development Life Cycle and agreed technical standards, methodology, and reporting. 

  • Facilitate the review of business and IT roadmaps to identify capability requirements (upgrade, buy or build) and participate in procurement activities where required 

  • Maintain an enterprise architecture repository at Country Road Group, including - definitions, principles, frameworks, roadmaps, component definitions across application, technical, data, and integration layers. 

  • Architecture direction of multiple IT projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely delivery, and liaise with external vendors where required 

  • Be an escalation point for technical and implementation issues encountered by project and development teams. 


Key Capabilities 
 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical solutions to and persuade business stakeholders in a clear and concise manner 

  • Experience as an Enterprise Architect in a retail environment and strong exposure to Merchandising, Supply Chain, BI and Cloud systems (ideally AWS based) 

  • Proven track record of designing solution for complex IT projects, particularly those involving the integration and optimisation of Merchandise, Supply Chain and Data/BI platforms 

  • Proven exposure to data lake, cloud based data warehouse, analytics, reporting and integration
