At Country Road Group, our Group Functions sit at the heart of our business, driving the success of our portfolio of distinctive brands and enabling them to do what they do best. Working across the business, you will play a vital role in shaping how we operate, grow, and innovate, bringing our strategy to life.

As the Non-Trade Procurement Sourcing Business Partner, you will be the senior commercial procurement partner to Country Road Group’s Supply Chain and Logistics leadership, owning the logistics category strategy and end-to-end sourcing agenda across our multi-brand retail operations.

Partnering across Supply Chain, Distribution, eCommerce, Store Operations and Finance, you will lead complex sourcing and commercial negotiations across logistics services including freight, warehousing, fulfilment, 3PL and last-mile. Combining strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and senior stakeholder influence, you will identify opportunities, strengthen supplier performance and resilience, and translate procurement strategies into measurable financial and operational value. You will also lead or support Marketing and other indirect categories as business priorities require.

How You Will Contribute

  • Own and evolve CRG’s logistics category strategy, supplier landscape and multi-year sourcing and contract renewals pipeline
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics, Distribution Centres, eCommerce, Store Operations and Finance to align procurement activity with operational, commercial and customer priorities
  • Lead complex sourcing and negotiations across logistics categories including 3PL, warehousing and fulfilment, domestic and international freight, parcel and last-mile, customs, air freight and reverse logistics
  • Analyse spend, volumes, rate structures, service levels and demand scenarios to identify cost, service, operating model and delivery opportunities
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives from opportunity assessment and sourcing strategy through RFx, tender evaluation, negotiation, contracting and transition to ongoing vendor management
  • Develop robust business cases and executive recommendations using spend analysis, validated baselines, total cost of ownership, scenario modelling and options analysis
  • Establish commercial and supplier performance frameworks that optimise cost, service, capacity, resilience, risk and continuous improvement
  • Provide market intelligence and commercial insights to identify financial, operational, risk and service-improvement opportunities across Logistics and other indirect categories
  • Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders, influencing commercial decisions and championing procurement policies, governance and best practice across the business
  • Support the Head of Non-Trade Procurement through portfolio prioritisation, governance and quality assurance, deputising when required and representing Procurement in senior stakeholder forums
  • Lead or support sourcing initiatives across Marketing and other indirect categories as business priorities require, bringing a flexible and commercially focused approach to category management.

Capabilities We Value

  • A related tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering or a similar discipline; procurement qualifications such as CIPS/MCIPS are desirable
  • At least 8 years’ experience across procurement, strategic sourcing or category management, ideally within a complex, fast-paced or matrix organisation
  • Substantial recent strategic sourcing or category management experience within Logistics, with exposure to other indirect categories; Marketing procurement experience will be highly regarded
  • Strong experience leading complex logistics sourcing and negotiations across areas such as 3PL, warehousing, fulfilment, domestic or international freight, parcel, last-mile, customs or reverse logistics
  • Demonstrated capability evaluating complex tenders and alternative commercial, operating and delivery models using spend, total-cost, scenario and options analysis
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability, with experience negotiating complex supply and services agreements in partnership with Legal
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including spend analysis, baseline validation, TCO/should-cost modelling and complex tender evaluation
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to present recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders and challenge constructively

  • Strong market intelligence and supplier-networking capability, with the ability to translate market trends into category strategies and sourcing opportunities
  • Advanced Excel capability with experience using data visualisation or business intelligence tools to support commercial decision-making
  • Experience within fashion retail, omnichannel retail, FMCG or another consumer-facing sector is desirable, along with the ability to move effectively between deep Logistics category leadership and broader indirect procurement priorities.
