As the Business Analyst for Data & Analytics, sitting within our IT function, you will play a key role in the development of a modern, trusted data platform across Country Road Group. Partnering with business and technical stakeholders, you will translate complex data and reporting needs into clear requirements, support the migration and transformation of data within our AWS environment, and help establish consistent data definitions, governance and quality standards. With data at the heart of your expertise, you will bring strong analytical thinking, cloud data literacy and stakeholder management skills to ensure our data solutions are accurate, trusted and deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Please note this is a 12-month fixed term opportunity. 

How You Will Contribute

  • Gather and translate data, analytics and reporting requirements into clear specifications for technical delivery teams
  • Analyse and profile source data (e.g. Oracle Retek, Manhattan, Shopify etc) to identify quality issues, gaps and transformation requirements
  • Support the development of our AWS data platform across ingestion, transformation and reporting layers
  • Support data migration to Amazon Redshift, including source-to-target mapping, reconciliation and cutover readiness
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Enterprise Architecture to define data pipelines, transformation logic and reporting requirements
  • Define data quality, reconciliation and UAT criteria, validating outputs with business stakeholders before go-live
  • Champion data governance, including ownership, access, standards, definitions and data lineage
  • Facilitate workshops to establish consistent enterprise metrics, business definitions and calculation logic
  • Drive resolution of conflicting data definitions and priorities across business functions
  • Support the rollout and adoption of new data platform capabilities and reporting tools
  • Build strong relationships across technical and business teams, advocating for trusted, usable and commercially relevant data.

Capabilities We Value

  • Demonstrated Business Analyst or Data Analyst experience, with data and analytics as a primary professional focus
  • Experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue and Redshift, or comparable platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse or BigQuery
  • Working SQL capability, with confidence profiling source data, investigating issues and validating outputs
  • Strong understanding of data governance, including data quality, ownership, access, standards and definitions
  • Experience supporting data platform development, migration or analytics transformation initiatives
  • Strong requirements gathering, data mapping, documentation and business analysis capability
  • Experience facilitating workshops and gaining agreement on business rules, metrics and data definitions
  • Exposure to BI and reporting tools such as Qlik, Power BI, Tableau or QuickSight
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence influencing senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with genuine enthusiasm for data, cloud technology and emerging AI capabilities
  • Retail or fashion industry experience is highly regarded, along with relevant tertiary qualifications or AWS certification.
