Purpose
The Technical Designer - Accessories provides sound technical advice to production managers and designers in understanding how the desired style and fit can be achieved of their category, accessories with a large focus on footwear. Responsible for the design brief pack to our vendors and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the process. This role will actively troubleshoot with stakeholders when technical issues may arise, presenting options and solution aligned to the Witchery objectives, whilst ensuring vendors have all necessary information to commence production.
Key Accountabilities
Provide technical advice and support to the team regarding styling and fitting requirements
Create and maintain accurate technical packs in the PLM system for all styles, or through an agreed manual process if no system is available
Establish and maintain appropriate construction standards across all categories with suppliers, ensuring alignment with the brand’s quality expectations
Ensure products readiness for bulk production including QA approval across fabrication and Tech Pack accuracy and completeness.
Maintain detailed records of product specifications, testing results, and quality control measures
Ensure that products meet regulatory and safety requirements, such as product labelling and packaging
Establish strong communication channels with designers, the production team, and external suppliers to ensure company strategic initiatives and targets are met.
Key Capabilities
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel for communication and data management
Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop, for design purposes.
Proven product development experience, particularly with footwear and accessories design and manufacturing
Leather experience is a highly regarded
Strong negotiation skills are highly regarded, aiding in supplier management and product pricing discussions
Familiarity with managing relationships and operations involving overseas suppliers.
