Reporting to the Head of People – Retail, this Auckland based People Partner will partner with Retail leaders across our retail network in New Zealand to deliver the people strategy, while maximising the capability of our people and teams.
This role includes coaching business leaders, collaborating with the wider people team and building strong relationships across the business to provide solution-oriented outcomes.
Please note this is a 12 month contract.
This role is remote ; however, you will be required to travel to our Newmarket office and the New Zealand store network regularly.
Your key responsibilities will be :
Partnering with Head of Retail and retail leaders on shaping people strategy and solutions and executing cyclical activity in partnership with our people function
Building management capability and providing coaching and guidance to managers where required
Leading conversations around talent management, succession planning and team engagement
Balancing commercial objectives with the needs of our people to create an engaging and effective team experience
Support leaders in change management principles for delivery of projects or initiatives
Facilitate leadership training across retail network in New Zealand
Facilitating, leading projects and executing initiatives for continuous improvement that support the broader Retail people plan
What you will bring:
You are comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a growing, fast-paced environment where you apply a people-first and pragmatic mindset to everything you do. You have outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, and you love partnering with leaders and team members.
Importantly, you have a curious mindset and enjoy a challenge working with your team to find pragmatic and innovative solutions.
As you partner with your leaders to manage the end-to-end team member life cycle, you'll be juggling multiple hats at any one time, so prioritisation and collaboration is key! Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate:
Prior experience in a People Business Partner role ideally in retail, hospitality or a similar industry supporting a large team member base.
The ability to solve problems creatively and draw on your best-practice HR experience
Experience with Awards or EBA interpretation
Excellent influencing skills and communication skills
Experience managing competing priorities
Strong analytical skills
Exposure to org design principles and wider project/change management capability
An openness to support the full range of people activities, from partnering with senior leaders, to supporting the operational aspects of people movements and changes
